KOREAN FILM FESTIVAL ’18

In collaboration with the Korea-Arab Society and with the support of the Korean Cultural Centre and the Korea Foundation, join us for the film program KOREAN FILM DAYS with three screenings across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The program will present three contemporary Korean films including the feature films A Taxi Driver (2017), Veteran (2015) and The Pirates (2014) as well as the short film Bread Barbershop (2016) at three different venues, Warehouse 421 and Cinema Space (Manarat al Saadiyat) in Abu Dhabi and The Yard at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai.

The Korean Film Days screenings are part of the Korea Festival 2017, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE and the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development of the UAE. The Korea Festival promotes cultural awareness and brings the magic of Korean culture and art to the UAE hosting a variety of cultural performances that will present Korean culture.

Korea-Arab Society is a non-profit organization that works as an effective communication channel between the people of Kore and the Arab countries. It seeks to increase opportunities of collaboration and cultural exchange between the two regions through events such as the Korean Film Festival and Korea-Arab Friendship Caravan in the Arab countries; and the Arab Film Festival and Arab Cultural Festival in Korea. The Korean Cultural Center, located in Abu Dhabi, aims to promote Korean culture in the UAE by hosting various programs such as exhibitions and film screenings.

Korean Cultural Center in the UAE(KCCUAE) is located in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, one of the leading countries of the Middle East. KCCUAE was established in March 2016 to strengthen the cultural relationship between the two countries, based on ‘MOU on the Establishment of a Korean Cultural Centre in the United Arab Emirates for the Promotion of Cultural Cooperation’ signed during President Park Geun-hye’s visit to the UAE in March 2015. KCCUAE aims to be the base of promoting Korean culture and tourism, by spreading Korean Wave (Hallyu) and supporting art, cultural industry, tourism, sports, etc. KCCUAE will hold various programs, such as Korean language courses, cultural classes, movie screenings, exhibitions and performances, to raise the understanding of Korea among the people and to set a stepping stone of friendship between the two countries

From Abu Dhabi City:Follow the (E10) or Corniche Street towards Port Zayed (Secondary Entrance). Join 20th Street and at the 2nd roundabout turn left. From Dubai (Travelling on E11): Take Saadiyat Island / Yas Island exit onto Sheikh Khalifa Highway (E12), Continue onto Sheikh Khalifa Highway following the signs for Port Zayed (Secondary Gate). Join 20th Street, and at the 2nd roundabout, turn left. Key landmarks nearby Warehouse421 are Abu Dhabi Vegetable Market and Mina Center.
